Meet the 2026 MyWay Scholarship Winners: Cooper Harrell
First Commerce Credit Union’s investment in the communities it serves extends to helping individuals advance their education, enrich their lives, and pursue brighter financial futures.
That’s why First Commerce awards four $1,000 MyWay Scholarships each year to exemplary students who are advancing their education at colleges, universities, and technical schools.
Meet Cooper Harrell, one of the 2026 MyWay Scholarship winners, whose diligence and work ethic shone through beyond what’s on paper.
Cooper Harrell, Tallahassee
Florida State University
Cooper graduated with his bachelor’s degree in sports management in May 2025 and is currently working toward his master’s degree in athletic administration. As he pursues a career in athletic administration at the high school level, Cooper has put his knowledge into action while working at Maclay School as a substitute teacher and an intern in the school’s athletic department.
How has receiving the MyWay Scholarship helped you in pursuit of your education?
“I feel like the biggest thing that the MyWay Scholarship provides me is a little bit of financial relief, as far as the pursuit of my higher education. Often that can come with the financial burden of paying it your own way, which I have done so far.”
With the busy schedule of juggling academics and real-world work experience, having a financial cushion will help Cooper focus on what matters most.
“Being able to pursue my higher education and continue to use aid and support like the MyWay Scholarship, it’s definitely allowing me to pursue my career.”
First Commerce has awarded the MyWay Scholarship for more than a decade, selecting winners based on criteria including grades, community service, leadership, school activities, and work experience.
