Ready, Set, School Year with First Commerce Credit Union!
Smart Money Moves for a Successful Start
Back-to-school season is here! Even if the temperatures still feel like summer, a new school year marks the start of a fresh season filled with new routines, busy schedules and plenty of opportunities.
At First Commerce Credit Union, we know this time of year can feel like a whirlwind of school drop-offs, activities and packed calendars. That’s why this month’s newsletter is filled with helpful tips and resources to help you start the school year with confidence and stay on track with your financial goals.
Craft your school-year family budget
- Build your list early: Make sure to leave yourself some time before the school year kicks off to take inventory of everything you’ll need for a successful year: school clothes, classroom supplies, technology and devices.
- Factor in food and fees: Craft your plan for covering the cost of school lunches, whether it’s weekly or monthly, and think through costs associated with sports and activities, clubs and field trips.
- Take advantage of savings: There are still weeks left to save during Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday. Through August 20, eligible clothing, shoes, school supplies, and personal computers or accessories priced at $1,500 or less can be purchased tax-free. See all qualifying items here.
